Last Mile StudyWelcome to the University of Illinois Last Mile Study
You are invited to participate in a research study conducted by professors Peter Christensen, PhD, Lewis Lehe, PhD, and Adam Osman, PhD, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The goal of this project is to gain insight into how mobility-on-demand services affect transportation choices. Individuals who complete all surveys in the study will be provided $50 in gift cards ($10 for the baseline survey and $40 for the final survey) as a “thank you” for their participation. Some participants will be randomly chosen to receive additional Uber coupons that will cover 50% of the cost of their trips that begin or end at certain transit stations. You must be over 18 years old to participate. This must be your first time enrolling in the Last Mile Study.
We will ask you to share, or authorize the sharing of, three types of data:
(1) Transportation choices and a few other details through short (~5 minute) online surveys during the study period.
(2) Google Maps location data that will tell us about your travel patterns during the study period.
(3) Uber utilization data during the study period through the Uber app.
